Association for and by Members

An association cannot exist without active members. M.S.T.V. Stennis consists of 16 different committees that meet every Thursday evening. These 16 committees each contribute to M.S.T.V. Stennis and form the active core of the association. By joining a committee and becoming an active member, you can easily meet people, have a great time, and enjoy an even better student life in Maastricht!

Interested in joining a committee? Below is an overview of the various committees. There’s something for everyone!

AcCie

The AcCie of M.S.T.V. Stennis guarantees some much-needed distraction outside the tennis court. Four times a year, this committee organizes an original and often popular event, like Live Monopoly, Laser Tag, or a drinking game night. Additionally, this committee is responsible for organizing the Active Members Outing and the infamous Stennis Cantus.

BarCie

The BarCie is the newest committee within Stennis and is responsible for managing the bar at tennis park T.C. Hazendans. Besides overseeing the bar, BarCie also ensures that every Wednesday, a delicious meal is available at the tennis club for members.

ExCie

The ExCie focuses on activities outside of Maastricht and collaborations with other clubs. These include both sports and student associations in Maastricht as well as tennis clubs across the Netherlands, such as exciting exchanges, a weekend at Roland Garros, or the Batavierenrace.

FeestCie

The FeestCie is in charge of all the essential parties for Stennis! They organize four themed parties each year and also arrange the New Year’s reception and the Valentine’s Day rose event. At the end of the year, FeestCie hosts our big open party: STENSATION.

IntegraCie

The IntegraCie is a committee that, by organizing fun activities, unifies all the committees that make up our wonderful association. They also keep members engaged throughout the year by tracking battle points.

IntroCie

The IntroCie organizes activities for new members. Right after INKOM, they set up a three-week introduction period including an introductory weekend. Throughout the year, the IntroCie also organizes several activities exclusively for first-year members, such as a cocktail night or a games evening.

JaarboCie

The JaarboCie (Yearbook Committee) is responsible for creating the yearbook, in which we look back on all the fun activities from throughout the year. They also organize the annual boat party.

LustrumCie

This year, M.S.T.V. Stennis celebrates its 7th lustrum. The LustrumCie is responsible for organizing activities, a trip, and a gala this year.

OT-Cie

OT-Cie stands for Open Tournament Committee and, as the name suggests, this committee organizes the Stennis Open! This is a large open tournament with around 300 participants. Besides tennis, there’s also attention to a theme, activities, sponsorship, and promotion of the tournament.

PadelCie

Since this year, we have four padel courts at T.C. Hazendans. The PadelCie organizes internal padel tournaments to further promote this exciting new sport.

PR-Cie

The PR Committee handles all of Stennis’s promotion! Not only do they make sure Stennis stands out during Maastricht’s introduction week, but they are also there at introductory drinks and open tennis sessions. Additionally, they take photos at events and keep our social media and website updated.

RedacCie

Five times a year, Stennis publishes a club magazine called the ‘Crack.’ The RedacCie is responsible for writing the articles, layout, and distribution of the club magazine.

SponsCie

This committee ensures that Stennis can keep going! Sponsorship money is crucial for the association to meet its expenses and provide members with a fantastic time. As part of SponsCie, you’ll attract sponsors with appealing agreements and represent Stennis at events to bring in funds.

TossCie

The TossCie is responsible for the toss night. Every Wednesday evening, we host an open toss night at our tennis club, T.C. Hazendans, where everyone is welcome to play tennis and padel. We also organize integrations so that committees can compete in tournaments and games against each other during the toss evening.

WedCie

The WedCie handles all tennis-related matters at M.S.T.V. Stennis on the tennis park. This committee organizes the (S)tennis evenings held every Wednesday, as well as the internal winter competition. They also manage the training sessions and the spring and autumn competitions, including scheduling. The night tournament and club championships are also among WedCie’s responsibilities.

WeekendCie

This committee organizes the Meesleep Weekend and Members Weekend. They ensure that we have an incredible weekend with all active Stennis members!

WispoCie

Every year, a lively group of Stennis members heads to the Alps for skiing and après-ski. The ski committee organizes this memorable trip, complete with an introductory dinner, beautiful sweaters, and everything else that comes with it.

Subcommittees

For all enthusiastic members who want to do more than one committee or have limited time but still want to contribute to the association, we have several subcommittees. These committees meet less regularly but are still essential to our association!

AdviesCie

The advisory committee assists the board with requested and unrequested advice. Each week, they review the minutes of the board meetings, providing tips, strengths, and support as needed.

KasCo

The audit committee consists of former treasurers and members with a knack for accounting. They review the balance several times a year, assisting the treasurer in keeping our finances in order.

KledingCie

We’re proud of our wonderful association and love to show it off by wearing our logo around the city and promoting it at open tournaments. The clothing committee takes care of our beautiful merchandise.

SiteCie

This beautiful site (yes, we say it ourselves) wouldn’t be possible without the site committee. They ensure you can find a calendar of upcoming activities, register, access the newsletter, and much more.
