Padel

Padel

What is padel?

Padel is a combination of tennis, squash and beachball. You play padel two against two on a court surrounded by glass walls. The game works as follows; the ball may touch the walls/ground once before the ball must be hit again to the other side. Furthermore, the game follows the 'normal' tennis rules. You play padel with a fiberglass or carbon racket. The game originally comes from Mexico. See a video at the bottom of the page explaining the rules of the game, or follow this link to YouTube.

Padelpark

MSTV Stennis uses the courts at Hazendans tennis park together with citizen association TC Hazendans. The park currently has 10 brand new clay courts and 2 padel courts, 6 of which are illuminated. In addition, it has 1 practice wall, a spacious cozy canteen (in-house) and two changing rooms. The padel courts at the tennis park can be used all year round and the tennis courts can be used until frost.

Trainings

In addition to the regular tennis training, which takes place in 5 periods of 5/6 weeks, padel training is also offered. The training is given by a trainer certified in padel.

Toss

Every Wednesday evening (with certain exceptions) we have a toss evening for all our members from 7:00 PM, where every member is welcome to come and play a game. On these evenings, doubles are mainly played, where members are randomly paired together. The nice thing about this is that there are changes every half hour or so, so you can play tennis and padel with and against different Stennis players.

Toss Drinks In addition to the regular Toss that takes place every Wednesday, a toss drink is also organized every few weeks. On this evening, tennis is combined with a special interpretation! In addition to the delicious drinks, the beer pong tables are set up and the snacks are flying around. These evenings are assured of even more fun than during the normal toss evenings!New paragraph

Competition

In the spring and autumn there is also an opportunity to play padel competition at MSTV Stennis. Members can register for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. For more information about this competition and the exact dates, visit the KNLTB website.

Tournaments

MSTV Stennis has a separate committee that ensures everything regarding padel runs smoothly. They also organize a padel tournament for our members twice a year. In addition, other associations in the Maastricht region also organize several padel tournaments, which you can participate in as a member of MSTV Stennis.
